Monumental Life was founded in Baltimore, Maryland in 1858. The company has survived two World Wars, The Great Depression, and a number of other socially and financially tumultuous times. After September 11, 2001, the company announced that their "Acts of War" clause would be waived for death claims associated with the Sept. 11th attacks.

Term Life Insurance Products
Monumental offers the following Term Life products:
Value Term 5
- Protection and premiums remain level for five years.
- This policy is guaranteed renewable every five years until the age of 70.
- This policy is issued to people ages 18-65.
- Coverage is available from $5,000 to $25,000.
Flex Term 7
- The life insurance coverage remains level for seven years.
- The policy is guaranteed renewable every seven years.
- Premiums may increase over the years, but they will never exceed the guaranteed maximum.
- The policy is issued to people aged 18-80.
- Coverage is available from $25,000 up.
Flex Term 65
- The premiums remain level, but the coverage decreases up to age 65.
- The death benefit decreases until 62, then remains level at 20% of the initial face amount until age 65.
- This policy is issued to ages 18-5.
- Coverage is available from $25,000 up.
15 and 30 Year Mortgage Protection Policies
- Protection decreases annually.
- Premiums remain level for 13 and 28 years, respectively.
- This policy is issued to people who are age 18-70.
- Coverage is available from $25,000 up.
